Whitechapel Women: Beyond the Jack the Ripper Tour 2022 dates

Feb 02, 2022

Recently there has been much interest in the five women killed in east London just over 130 years ago. In autumn of 2017 we launched our alternative tour to look at the lives of these 5 women and the issues today having experience of working with women on the same streets for nearly 25 years.

Join us to hear the untold story of Jack the Ripper’s victims. In this hidden history tour we celebrate the strength of women led to sell sex for survival, not a serial killer.

Visiting the streets where the women lived, we will explore what we know about their lives and commemorate their deaths. Alongside the historic, you’ll hear the stories of women still affected by sexual exploitation in the area today and how you can take action on these issues.

”Our tour guides were knowledgeable, passionate and insightful. They drew poignant and effective parallels between the women then and now…What a great experience this tour was!”

The fee for these tours covers the costs and any profits raised from these tours support our direct work with women. This helps offer routes out of sexual exploitation for women in East London and nationally. Alternatives to prostitution weren’t available for Jack the Ripper’s victims, learn about our work building routes out for women selling sex in the area today by joining us on a tour.
