Safeguarding Training for Trustees of Beyond the Streets’ Affiliate Projects

Beyond the Streets is providing free online safeguarding training courses for Trustees and Safeguarding Leads

About this event

Safeguarding Training for Trustees of Affiliated Projects of Beyond the Streets.

Beyond the Streets is providing free online safeguarding training courses for Trustees and Safeguarding Leads who would appreciate the opportunity to ensure their training is up to date and specific for women who sell sex.

We want to ensure both these courses enable Trustees and Safeguarding Leads to work well together, understanding what each may need to do to ensure their charity/project meets all legal requirements and offers the best safeguarding practices for the women they serve.

DATES:

Safeguarding Leads: Thurs November 17th 9:30am – 12:30pm

Safeguarding Trustees: Thursday November 24th 7:30pm to 9:30pm

Trustees:

As Trustees you have the legal responsibility for ensuring the charity/project is compliant regarding its safeguarding responsibilities; it is a governance priority for all trustees. The Charity Commission will hold trustees to account if things go wrong and will check that trustees followed proper guidance and the law.

This on-line 2-hour session allows you to understand the different issues and safeguarding challenges charities face, and the 10 Charity Commission duties you must fulfil, along with serious incident reporting and managing allegations of abuse.

By the end of the session, you will have:

  • An awareness of safeguarding concerns in a charity setting under safeguarding guidance and law
  • Space to examine the 10 actions trustees need to take to ensure good governance and compare different tools to measure compliance
  • An appreciation of reporting serious incidents and when to report to the charity commission (including allegations and concerns about Staff /volunteers)

Trainer: Designed and delivered by Elaine Davidson an NSPCC Accredited Safeguarding Trainer, who works with Beyond the Streets to ensure our practices are fit for purpose.

Audience: For any trustees of an Affiliated project or project member who wants to learn or refresh their safeguarding knowledge.

We suggest max of 2 places per project and request individual screens please.
